STINGRAY RUG
MOODY, TACTILE & MYSTERIOUS
Inspired by a heroine of Camilla Stærk; Danish storyteller Karen Blixen, the tales from her life in Kenya during the 1920’s and 30’s and as accounted in her celebrated novels such as ‘Out Of Africa’. The design of The Stingray Rug is, in addition to being imagined from these tales, an homage to nature, a recurring theme in Stærk's work: an interpretation of the exotic sting ray's beady skin each with one small unique diamond shaped feature making a magical focal point, lighter in tone and always placed on upper back. Constructed of Pure New Zealand Wool, the tufted rug is made in Denmark. The design aims to speak to both the masculine and feminine. An enticing addition to the setting it finds itself in and not an overpowering feature; a complementary subtle design.
